The Beach

The beautiful beach is enormous and often nearly deserted, a large strip of white sand and seaside dunes perfect for taking walks. The warm, crystalline water is ideal for swimming. This is one of the most beautiful beaches along the Linha Verde and among the most peaceful in all of Bahia (Brazil).

The splendid view is framed by coconut palms and the mouth of the Boi river. The sandy coast of Praia do Baxio is a favored location for sea turtles to come and lay their eggs. The small, newly constructed waterfront promenade of the village of Baixio offers multiple stalls well equipped with drinks, delicious local snacks, showers and restrooms.
